Why? Or Why Not? LGBT or GLBT, is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. A unique minority, a culture of people with their own set of pros and cons. People seeking a more comfortable survival state, one they are comfortable with, are much the pioneers.
It will take time to observe their impact on others and their unique contribution to society. We all need tolerance. Sexual Discrimination Laws have helped their survival. We also need to give society’s children a chance to grow up to 18 before making serious sexual decisions.
Awareness Coursework is needed. People crack under the pressure from unsolicited sexual advances from like kind/same sex. I am happy the gay community is out of the closet, but it’s time for their elders in their community to call their people to order.
Like all people, they need manners and instruction on how to go about talking, working and interacting with the straights. The straights need instruction too, on how to interact with the LGBT community productively.
I suggest they start some sort of finishing school or a block of course work. All the talk about acceptance is justified due to the past oppression. But now show us, the straights, what you are capable of. Bring your talent, but bring mannerly talent. Bring your opinion, but be sure to tailor fit it so all are welcome without anyone being pushy.
Just like a religion, some people aren’t interested to convert.
So tongues in, chest out, shoulders back and feel confident to have your sex privately or at a private party, but just like everyone else, no harassment.
